After a month of refinement, the final version of my Mac software navigation site V1 is now live.
A Journey from 0 to 1 in AI Programming
I jokingly call myself a "pseudo-developer who knows absolutely nothing about coding," but for this Mac software navigation site, I still threw myself into it for over a month. From the initial prototype to the current version, I’ve repeatedly adjusted and refined every detail. Today, I can finally say: this is its final V1 version.
If there are any major functional updates in the future, I’ll directly label it as V2 — setting a clear milestone for both myself and this small project.
Core Positioning
Back to the V1 version — its core positioning is simple: to be a useful Mac software navigation tool. The soul of this tool actually comes from the renowned Awesome Mac project — I’ve fully synchronized all the software resources from that project, so users can directly jump to the official websites of each software right from the site.
My Role
As for myself, I’m more of an “optimizer”: I didn’t add or remove any content from the software library, but I polished the website’s visual design to make it cleaner and more user-friendly. I also added a few ad slots, which will help cover some maintenance costs in the future.
Acknowledgments
I must sincerely thank the developers and maintainers of the Awesome Mac project — their persistence and dedication made such a rich repository of Mac software possible. I also thank all the software providers who have enriched our Mac user experience. Without them, there would be no foundation for this navigation site.
Finally, a little secret: the site actually already has built-in functions for automatic synchronization, adding, and removing software — I’ve just turned those features off for now. For V1, let’s keep it “pure” for a while.
