Setting Up Telegram Proxy on macOS + ClashX

(1) For the Telegram app, download the macOS-specific version, not the universal desktop version.

(2) After installing Telegram, configure the proxy settings to use SOCKS5, with the server set to 127.0.0.1:7890 (i.e., IP address + port). Replace 7890 with the actual port number used by your proxy software.

(3) If it still doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall Telegram.

Enabling Proxy for Dropbox After Using ShadowSocks

After setting up ShadowSocks for proxying, you may find that Dropbox fails to connect to the internet. To resolve this, configure Dropbox’s proxy settings as follows:

In Dropbox’s proxy preferences, select SOCKS5 and set the server to 127.0.0.1:1080 (i.e., IP address + port). Replace 1080 with the actual port number used by your proxy software.

If you are using ShadowSocksR instead of ShadowSocks, change the port from 1080 to 1086.

Note: Ensure the port number matches your proxy software’s configuration.
